The young fella had turned up (presumably on time), in clean clothes, stood in a firm but neutral way, looked the judge in his eye, smiled and stated simply what he believed. Frank Caprio, down the line as ever, confirmed that what he had said was true and had no compunction whatsoever in dismissing the case.

Even knowing you're appearing before such a benign authority, no one chooses to have to stand in the dock of a Courtroom to answer what transpired to be rather an unfair charge which may have created sensations of pique in lesser mortals - asides from that, there's the inconvenience and possible loss of earnings for the time taken to attend the hearing. But he knows the illegal right turn ticket was not issued to pick on him personally so deals with it politely, patiently and disarmingly. In turn, Judge Caprio gives the charming defendant all the respect due to him and renders a rigorously fair decision. That seems to warrant a gesture of quiet triumph by a citizen fully exonerated!😄 Two people demonstrating it's completely possible to put asides all differences, listen intently to one another with humility, with confidence and with patience: an object lesson in mutual respect, openness, trust and graciousness - if only everyone could interact this way....
