I really like woodland mansions, with their weird rooms and statues and the possible implications about the lives of the residents. I wish there were more of similar, bigger overworld structures like these.

Make sure to check out the height of the ceiling in all the rooms on the top floor. I discovered (by the amount of zombie grumbles) that there was a "false" ceiling in one of the rooms, that hid two treasure chests. I would assume there's no guarantee of this room being there, but if you find a room without the cobblestone line near the top of the room, it's an indicator that there's a hidden floor in there.

Also make sure to check the layout in general, just like in the video there's often hidden rooms with no entrance to them, and they're often hidden in the corners of the house.

This series is fantastic Pixl. I'm getting nostalgic to re-watch the first season all over again.

That pillager patrol spawned in and was like "Where is everybody? Are we late for the monthly illager meeting?"

I've been playing Minecraft for ten years and woodland mansions still terrify me. There are so many opportunities for the mobs to provide a jump scare, not to mention the viciousness of the vindicators. The evokers and their vexes are the worst, though. As long as you're within range, the evokers will continue to summon vexes and those things can be hard to hit because of their small size and darting movements. My usual strategy is to raid the mansion from the top down. I use scaffolding or otherwise pillar up to the roof and break a pane of glass to shoot mobs through the windows. After I've cleared all the mobs that I can see, I break in and use fences to block the room entrances and hallways. That prevents mobs sneaking up behind me and gives me a relatively easy retreat no matter what floor I'm on. This approach allows me to gather the best of the loot right away and deal with the worst of the mobs up front. Woodland mansions may be somewhat 'obsolete' since the addition of pillager raids, but they are still good for a bit of a challenge and it's always fun to see what rooms get generated with each one. If I can borrow a quote, they're 'like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're gonna get.'

A tip- look at the walls of the corridors and rooms. If the design of the wall is a "+" but with two blocks long arms, mine through, as it will always expose either a secret room, or a corridor, or any other room. If it is a "+" with one block long arms, don't sweat it.

8:15 It seems that it's not a statue of a vindicator but of evoker. Lapis block symbolized magic power

I set my base up in a woodland mansion and one of the things I did was make an aquarium in one side of one of the large hallways (with the pillars) and have it to store my pet axolotls

If you tend to get lost really easily (like me) there's a variation on the torches-on-the-left trick for caving: if you take out the occasional piece of white carpet on the left, you can always find your way back
maybe it's just me but i dont like to break the pre-placed torches that spawn in mansions

Pix, I once found a wooden room full of cobwebs with a spider spawner in a wood land mansion, A creeper blew up the floor and revealed the room, there was no real entrance to it.

I decided to raid a mansion myself after watching this and the one I found from a map is only at x=-700 z=2800, which is pretty close. It was also intersected by a mountain which caused big clumps of stone to generate in the mansion, and there was lush cave foliage throughout, overall a great experience. Great video btw!

Ha! I don't think I have ever heard Pixlriffs say "..get your butt handed to you." before. (4:29) As Southern boy from the US, I love it.

Hey Pix I would just like to let you know that turning on subtitles was a very smart move. I tried it and it's truly a game changer, almost broken. I can't play casually without it, I have become very used to glancing at the text to find lava, mobs, and other things. Honestly great.

"Then you're gonna get your butt handed to you by the Vindicator"
Love the humour Pix! 🤣

I use a mansion as my base lmao, thanks for these guides.
Oh and actually I wanna add something that was missed in a previous episode, Flowering Azalea trees have a 5% chance for bee nests to spawn on it when bonemealed from a flowering azalea bush.

Loved the use of the Nether music (I think it was Rubedo?) as you were exploring! That music adds such a nice atmosphere, both spooky and contemplative.
The themed weeks have been a lot of fun! As always, I look forward to whatever you'll end up covering next week

What great timing. I recently found my first Woodland Mansion thanks to a Cartographer Villager. It was ~8, 000 blocks away. I was wondering if the maps they trade are the closest and glad to hear that’s not necessarily the case.
