I'm currently taking Meta's Front End Developer course and I'm loving it so much. I am not a "traditional" learner by any means. I barely passed high school, as a matter of fact. I even attempted a few months at a traditional college for a Bachelor's in Computer Science. I was bored, annoyed that I hadn't even touched coding yet, and saw the other classes as pointless. So, I dropped out. I learned about people becoming self-taught software engineers and was excited again but didn't know where to start or where to put my time. I knew I needed a pre-designed roadmap, just to get myself going and confident enough to explore the subject of coding. That's when I discovered Meta's software development courses and was gobsmacked. This seriously could be life-changing for me in many ways. Not only is the pay increasingly plentiful for developers, but personally I was never a big "career" guy and thought most likely I was going to be stuck in the bottom-scraping cycle of paycheck-to-paycheck until I either got lucky or died penniless. This has given me a lot of hope.

Currently attending Meta React Native Specialization and its tremendous, i have background in IT as i am software engineer, i would say they got covered what the industry wants from you and is in demand, Wish e luck on this journey <3

I’m currently halfway through the Front-End JavaScript course and I’m enjoying it so far! Things are definitely getting a little trickier at this point and I take a lot of notes to help myself understand everything better, so I’m not sure when I might finish, but I’m estimating no later than 2 months from now with about 20-30 hours per week. I have no previous experience so I’m not just watching a video then moving to the next task. I watch the videos once without taking notes so I can give it my full attention, then I skim back through it to take notes on what I felt was important. I was never an excellent student in school, so doing it like this is new to me but it seems to be working really well in my case because I hardly have to refer back to notes or previous lessons or even google when I get quizzed or have to do the exercises. The only bad thing about it is that it slows down my overall progress (although I’d rather know everything well instead of having to google stuff every quiz and possibly not actually learn from it). I want to get my money’s worth out of this for when I finish the certificate and unsubscribe from Coursera.

I'm taking the Back-End Developer right now, up to module #4, however module #5 and up are not available at the moment. These courses are great, just keep going, even if you get stuck, its worth the time to learn these.
