I retired from a major US Airline after 23 years. I flew over 12 million miles and saw some really beautiful cities. Unfortunately, I also saw places like this in a lot of other cities in other countries too. A lot of lost souls and confused people. To see so much homelessness breaks my heart. It’s not only drugs and alcohol, the economy is so bad, that many hard working people are just one paycheck away from being on the streets themselves. 😢

This is exactly why drug rehab is free here in Malaysia. Drug addicts are arrested and sent to rehab for two years followed by two years of probation.

So sad!! 100 years ago my great grandmother used to get dressed up in her best dresses, heels, gloves, a hat and a fur coat to go to the symphony in San Francisco. It was well kept and clean and delightful. So sad to see what it has become. I hope some good soul will step in and clean it up and for crying out loud get help for the drug addicts who so badly need to clean up their lives and become good members of society.

Most turn aside at such a sight but I genuinely feel sadness for these people. Sure it is easy to say they chose to live in these conditions but can you stop to imagine how hurt - deep down hurt - a person must feel to allow his/her self to reach this level of existence?
