Congrats on reading all King books. The only two I haven’t read are Faithful and Danse Macabre. I am currently rereading ‘Salem’s Lot. I have The Graveyard Book and have been meaning to read it the last 3 Octobers. Maybe this year!

As an Australian it’s so nice to hear Autumn and jumper lol although it is spring here (hayfever season) on the other side of the world. Love your videos Harry, can’t believe you have read all of Kings novels at such a young age it’s taking me a life time lol. Looking forward to your thoughts on these books, I love gothic horror and also love James Herbert hope you do too

You should do a reading vlog for the day before Halloween and Halloween. It can be filled with book, horror movies or just chill. Love your content and congrats on almost finishing all of Stephen kings books.

First of all, I'm American, and it's FALL!! Because the leaves fall from the tree 🌳. And I never knew a sweater was ever called a jumper... shows how much I know.
Second of all, I love your spooky season TBR, and I plan to try House on Haunted Hill and Interview with Vampire. If I have time, The Exorcist, and some Christopher Buehlm vampire reads 📚

James Herbert is one of my fave Horror writers! You might want to get his book Domain as well as its part of A trilogy with The Rats & Lair. I read Domain as a teen and to this day certain parts in the novel freak me out and have stayed with me all these years on! New to your channel and loving your content ❤️

Great list! I love, love, love The Haunting of Hill House. I think it's probably the best *haunted house* novel and if you love gothic you'll probably LOVE the Hill House book. The Lottery is amazing. Basically everything Jackson did is amazing. 'The Road Through the Wall" is bleak, less horror, more a criticism of American suburbia. OH and 'The Lovely House' is one of her most brilliant short stories, super gothic horror meets weird fiction. I can ramble about Shirley all day so I'll stop now.

OHHHH MYYYY

Harry, My favorite book in existence is the Haunting of Hill House... and my favorite author? Shirley Jackson...

I've read The Lottery and it is so Heres the thing, Jackson has the best writing style than any other author i've ever read. The description is Hill House is phenomenal. If you weren't aware, Hill House has themes of Homosexuality for Queens like you and I. I've read a lot of Jacksons stuff and i'm reading Hangsaman by Jackson next month.

I also plan on reading Misery and the Turn of the Screw next month. Gothic Horror is my favorite genre of all time. I need to get a copy of the Castle of Otranto soon, as it's widely accepted as the first Gothic Horror novel in existence. Hope you enjoy Hill House! (my favorite line is from Hill House... Its at the very begining...

Thanks Harry!!! ❤️

Yes omg I’m so happy to hear someone else talk about the Lottery! I read it in school years ago and it was so unsettling and stuck with me so much that I just bought the short story collection it’s in, definitely going to be DEVOURING that this fall haha! Also, you’ve got some great picks on this list, love your channel!

I have some recommendations for you to try. It's a mix of old and new. Different genres and some are short stories.
I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream - Harlan Ellison
Very disturbing.
Spectator Sport - John D McDonald
Also disturbing.
An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge - Ambrose Bierce
Classic American story by The Old Gringo.
Candide - Voltaire
Classic and philosophical.
Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal - Christopher Moore
Irreverently funny but heartwarming.
The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove - Christopher Moore
Goofy fun.
Hyperion - Dan Simmons
The Shrike is terrifying.

So Black House will be your last King book as well? Man, that’s the only one I haven’t managed to finish. Let me know what you think. I’m also reading many spooky books in October. And some this month as well.

The Fog by James Herbert was the first proper adult horror novel I read. I think I was 10? I have since reread it and despite some outdated stereotypes, it was fast paced, pulpy, and inventively gruesome. However, trigger warnings apply here!
Also, if you are interested in Neil Gaiman, please read Neverwhere. To my taste it’s his best book. Happy reading, Harry!

Nice Harry. The Lottery is a great story & I like all Anne Rice. Most of vampire series books are great. And are you making fun of us Americans? Lol, just kidding ;)

I have read the Lottery in school! Interesting list. For Spooky Season I’ll be reading
The Stand by Stephen King
Something Wicked this Way Comes by Ray Bradbury
Salem’s Lot by Stephen King
I’ll probably read other stuff as well but not Horror stuff. I can be a bit optimistic sometimes with my tbr’s😂 btw Since i’m going to be watching lots of horror movies in October, but never have before, what would you suggest starting with?

I’m already reading the Stand in October, I’m reading Dune right now. And I’ve caved in…Just started Firestarter- despite the fact that i’m probably messing up my schedule 😅
