Why I love Z mount. It can adapt F, EF, and E lenses with autofocus and theoretically it could adapt RF due to mount size and flange distance.

Its not just autofocus and stabilization. It's also about the aperture. You couldn't change the aperture manually in these moderon lenses.

I shoot a lot of vintage lenses on my Canon cameras, especially old DKL mounts designed for early SLRs. I love using manual focus.

Quite a valid point, but one thing I must say, what about aperture? I use an amazing lens, but there is no manual aperture control.

I'd be careful with "any lens" as a lot of newer lenses are electronic focus, so without power they can't be focused, or apertures adjusted for that matter

Almost all astrocams have a universal M42 thread mount, but I guess system cam businesses are too greedy

That's how they make their money. It's also why you won't see universal batteries. I'm surprised we don't have proprietary memory cards actually!
