Everything We GET WRONG About the 3 Wise Men at Christ’s Birth

How much of the Christmas story – the birth of Jesus Christ – do we have right? Glenn speaks with Evangel University professor of Early Judaism, Wave Nunnally, who explains who the people in our nativity displays likely were. Who were the 3 wise men? Were they magicians, sorcerers, or pagan scholars, like they’re often depicted? Or were they something else? When did they show up in Judea? And were there only 3 of them? How about Joseph and Mary? Does the Biblical depiction of them match our cultural version?

I am a Persian guy and According to my father and my mother, my grandmother and my grandfather, I have been told since I was a child that one of the 3 kings was my grandfather and told me over and over that “you are from that bloodline”!
These 3 kings they loved they Bible and they read it. it was the Persian king who sent a caravan of Gold with an small army to protect the Caravan to Judea so the king Solomon and king David can build the temple of the Jews.
For that reason the Persian king was in love with the Bible and Jewish religion.
Persian king asked his astrologists to read the Bible and the 3 wise man discovered that the bible saying ( When the Star of David appeared on Bethlehem means Messiah is born .
When the Persian king heard this prophecy he immediately ordered these 3 wiseman to travel to Judea and he gave them lots of gold and gifts to give it to the Messiah and he also ordered them to bow down to SON of god and kiss his feet . The Persian king told the 3 wise man: since I am sending you to meet the Messiah then I shall call you 3 kings. We Persians are the first ever nation on the face of the earth who recognized the Messiah and bow down to him.
Unfortunately Arabs attacked many times to our country and finally they invaded our country and turned our country into an Islamic country. But don’t ever forget those people who are in Iran wearing turbans are the Arab descends not Persians what so ever. True indigenous Persians are the defender of the Jewish people and what’s happening today it’s nothing but a disgrace, thx to President Carter Democrat who made a better deals with Ayatollahs terrorists because of oil prices and he betrayed the greatest ally of Israel and United States and he helped the terrorists to overthrow the shah of Iran .
I hope my lord and my Almighty god raise me up from the ashes and give me the power of the Moses so not only I will free the Persian people from this males but also free the whole nations in Middle East from bondage and slavery of islam and also free them from their hate against my beloved Jewish brother and sisters for ever.
My beautiful American brother and sisters if you are reading this humble post please pray for me. I have survived the Islamic prosecution and execution at the age of 12, and I left my father’s land since I was 17 years old . I need to go back and saving my father’s land from the hands of Demonic people who are in charge.

Eric's wife: My grandpa used to send me Christmas card and many times he sent it with "Wise men still seek Him." This is beautiful to me since I witnessed to him when I was a little girl and he later came to know Jesus.

Maybe I misunderstood, but the Bible states Joseph considered divorcing her privately and the very next verse says, “But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.”

The most important thing to remember is the Jesus Christ is the Son of God and our Savior and Redeemer. He is the Creator of the Universe and because of Him and His Infinite Atoning Sacrifice, we have the gift of immortality and the chance of exaltation.

The "astrologer" definition actually makes sense when you take into account that Daniel is identified as "chief of the magicians." It wasn't "dark arts, " it was study of Jewish prophecy.

Not wanting to make waves. But the only thing worth mentioning is the fact that the only astronomical event occurring on a Jewish Holiday dealing with Kingship of David’s line was Rosh Hashanah, which is September 11 according to the Dead Sea Scroll calendar. And there is an event on that date called a Jupiter-Regulus conjunction in 3 BC.
Best part? It looks exactly like Revelation 12.

Daniel was put in charge of the star gazers, astrologers, or wise men when they were in Babylon. Daniel was a prophet. So these wise men, who were from Babylon, not China, were looking for the sign in the sky, because they are star gazers, then when they saw it, they knew exactly what this star meant and they traveled to see the new king that Daniel spoke of whose kingdom would never pass away.

"Three" wise men? Where does the Bible say "3?" The "wise men" were from Persia. They knew about the Christ being born because of the teachings of Daniel, the exiled prophet, during Nebuchadnezzar's time
