Have had my 2013 Scion iQ since 2016. It had 28k miles when I got it and now has 170k. It has been by far the most dependable, most practical, and most lovable car I’ve ever owned! I’ve also driven it on long trips multiple times. East coast to west coast and back 2 different times. I think adding the after-market cruise control set would make the long drives even more comfortable. I highly recommend this car for people who need an affordable, reliable ride.

I've always kind of wanted one of these. Friends need a ride somewhere? TOO BAD.

I think you kind of missed the point with the cargo/rear seats thing. This car is barely longer than a Smart, but if you fold the rear seats flat, it has a way more useful cargo area. There are storage compartments under the rear seat bottom cushions specifically designed for the rear seat head rests. Most IQ owners use the car this way, as a two seater, with some useful cargo space behind the front streets. The added bonus is that you can also flip the rear seat up, and transport another person for a short trip. The front passenger seat is designed to slide forward further than the driver's seat, which is why the dashboard is pushed further forward on the passenger side. If it was touching the rear seat, it was all the way back. Rear seat room on the driver's side is very restricted, and should only be attempted by small children, not XXL men.

I have a scion 2014 limited series. I love my car like a baby, I just wish micro cars were still made like this one.

Bought one new in 2012, best car I've ever had...and STILL have! I'm retired, so it still has less than 70, 000 miles on it.

Loved my IQ. Had it 2017-2020. Great city car, & handles absolutely fine on highway, road trips, country roads as well Great on gas, good storage w/back seat folded down, good safety features(13 airbags I think) Drove it wintertime n upper MI, thru Great Smoky mountains & red river gorge, always handled just fine.
2020 I was tboned by a truck. My IQ tipped over onto drivers side, slid into oncoming & was then hit by another car. Walked away without even a scratch. Definitely a great little car!

One of the few open-minded people to ever review this car. I love the look

The more I see these the more I wish I had one. It’s so goofy I love it.

I really enjoyed this review. I love little cars and the iQ does not appear to disappoint! Wish these were still available.

These were also sold in Europe as Toyotas, since Scion was primarily a North American only brand.

It is a 3 plus 1 Car, . You can push the front passenger seat very long forward, so the passenger right back sits pretty compfortable. the 4th seat behind the driver is for a child seat, a dog or a bag.

What impressed me the most about this car was at 6'5'' and 360lbs I fit exceptionally well with lots of headroom and great leg room. It was hilarious getting into and out of apparently. At least the salesman and my wife thought so.

My main issue with this review is that you didn't move the front passenger seat forward. The dash is off center so that the passenger seat can slide further forward than the driver's seat. You can fit a 6ft tall person in the back passenger seat. Behind the driver there is no room. Hence the 3+1 marketing. 3 full seats plus one seat if you need it.

Already have a Brabus Smart, now it’s time to buy one of these 😎🤝

I thought I wanted one of these until I found out they cost more than a Yaris and it doesn't get much more MPG.
Why would I pay more AND give up the space? I would have liked to seen this available with a manual steering rack, manual windows, 50mpg, and a manual transmission for less than a Yaris.

I am 5’3 and it works for me ..gas fill up is 13.00 to 15.00 ..The back seat is great for grocery shopping and extra bags ..and parking is great.. Freeway driving not so good.. But overall it’s rare and I love it.. it’s fun to drive and Cute. And it is a Great little car for the city and commuting to work.. This was a great review

Hidden gem. Japanese Smart car. Basically a LHD kei car with 2x bigger engine.

9:26 actually thats still illegal in states with front plate laws. It’s illegal in all 50 states to have anything obstructing your plate front or back, regardless of its transparency, including glass, plastic covers, and yes, windshields

An interesting car that I revisit from time to time. I would consider it the scooter of cars. I wish it got better mpg considering the 2014 Corolla cvt gets 42mpg. I wonder what mpg you could get dumping the rear seats?
