The Tragic Tale of EDP445

After being caught in 4k back in April 2021, EDP445's situation has only gone from bad to worse. He's been evicted from his apartment complex, is apparently almost broke, and various sources state over the last month, he's been arrested and is potentially in jail. Things have gotten so bad, that EDP has even attempted to change his name legally. However, such is the price you pay in a world where you unavoidably reap what you sow.

EDP legitimately threw his life away for his "cupcake". He spent his whole life building a reputation and threw it away in less than a day.

The issue is, he denied it the first time, made up stories saying it was an act, doubled down on his lies and then tries to meet another girl AGAIN. The only redemption would have been to turn himself in and do jail time. But he just doesn’t do that. In some way, he dug his own grave and did it to himself. Forgiveness is given to those who know what they’ve done and seek to do better.

What's so bizarre to me about this entire situation is the fact that EDP was cancelled (rightfully so might I add) & disciplined accordingly by all social platforms but James Charles still gets to post freely?
Granted EDP was in the process of going to physically see who he believes was a 13 year old child... But at what point do we consider ones actions worthy of "cancellation"?
EDP himself had a pattern of this behavior & never appeared to be remorseful until everything eventually caught up with him; however, can we not say the same about James Charles? Or is this a matter of one having a good legal team while the other doesn't have one?
Is it our perception of predators targeting little girls vs little boys? Perhaps it's about who's generated more dollars for YouTube or who's considered more of a physical threat?
It's just very odd to me that one (rightly) gets the treatment you'd expect for this kind of behavior & the other can just move on & sweep it under the rug all while still being caught up in new controversy.

I think the main issue is that he clearly has no remorse. He isn't sorry for his actions, he's sorry that he got caught. If he ever truly wanted to change he would've dipped from the internet and gotten help instead of making blatant lies and excuses.

The sad thing about all this is that there's a lot more creators, celebrities and powerful people who do the same thing as EDP did, even worse at times, but they have enough charisma to get tons of people behind them where EDP is basically universally hated now. Which he deserves of course, but it's sad to see other people like him who are a bit more succesful get a pass.

EDP445 dug his own grave with this situation at this point. He probably thought that his situation was *minor, * but it was very major.

But it wasn’t "just one mistake" that wiped out all of his achievements though. It was *_eight prior incidents of attempting to sexually abuse an underage child!_* That’s hardly a "mistake", that’s a concerted pattern of deliberate criminal behaviour. He needs to be on a register, as he’s repeatedly demonstrated that he’s an obviously clear threat to kids.

Whether we feel bad about him or not I think we should see EDP as an example that the worst could happen to us if we didn't consider the consequences of our actions.

What he did is absolutely inexcusable, but it also feels like a lot of people are just using his reprehensible actions as an excuse to vent their own malice.
They don't want to see him face justice for what he did, they just want someone that they can viciously bully whilst feeling high and mighty, and facing no consequence for their own godawful behaviour.
