I draw a lot, so here are some tips (sorry if i have bad spelling/grammar):

make sure the eyes arnt to big or to pointed or have loads of highlights, it makes the drawing look more stiff and awkward. Also make sure you don't leave one half of the eye with eye lashes and the other half not, instead try putting eyelashes on the top and the bottom corner it looks more cute that way and if you look at other artists work they usually do that. If you want to draw cat ears don't draw 2 triangles on the head instead look at actual references of cats and make the ears face slightly to the side and forward, also make sure you make the hair flow around the hair. When drawing hands don't hide them in pockets or behind their body, even though it's tempting to do so, instead take your time and watch some tutorials because trust me, so much emotion can be shown in the position of that hands. When drawing legs don't make them stiff and please I'm begging you to search up some references, it will change your life and will very clearly change your art. When drawing arms make sure you define the direction your arm is facing, I see people draw arms facing the wrong way so often and it's very fixable, just dont be tempted to make the lower arm tuck behind the bicep if the character is facing forwards. Don't add a lot of detail unless you think you are skilled enough to start stylising, the hair should be a mass of hair and not strands of hair, the nose should only be a highlight to show depth and the mouth (more commonly) is just a line. Clothes allways fold around a point of tension, don't just add random shadows to clothes and try to visualise what parts of the clothes would be tight and draw the shadows around it. Dont trace, especially if its your going to be in your final drawing, it's not going to help and it is very obvious when you do trace. Use the s or z technique when drawing poses (search it up). Finally, my final tip is to not worry if you have art block, a lot of people get it and it's just a part of being an artist, of you do have art block a few ideas would be to use a random ___ generator, or use a tiktok trend to base your character off of.

I'm really determined to make sure new artists keep trying, especially during this new ai art trend (I wish the very worse for that trend and I hope it dies soon).
