Today I explain how to tune your evertune equipped guitar. I use my Solar Guitars A1.6 Artist which has an evertune bridge. I go over the 3 "zones" of the evertune as well as how to set up the bridge to allow for bends. I hope this helps some of you out there.

Darrell Braun's guide to tuning an Evertune is the best, he simplies it better than anyone.

One thing people should be aware of is that you'll likely have a 10 cent or so difference in pitch between the bottom of zone 2 and top of zone 2.

To make sure you're in tune, pick where in zone 2 you want to be (basically, the closer to zone 3 you are, the higher the sensivity of the string before it allows you to bend), and tune to that position you are within zone 2. So say you wanted to play chords and not bend, place yourself in the center of zone 2 and then tune there. If you mess with the tunining peg chances are your tuning will drift up or down, depending on what you do.

I just ordered my solar a1.6 artist the other day. Your video helped me understand the evertune. Thanks!

I've been eyeing a Solar with Evertune and wondered what that was all about because it seemed a bit complex. So I did what you do - went to youtube for answers and watched a couple of clips that tried to explain the zones and made a really half arsed job of it and I came off of that even more wary about the Evertunes than before. This made all the difference though, now I get it. Thanks a whole bunch.

Dropping the Pick in the last 2 sec of video made this all perfect haha

This was so damn helpful. I was able to figure it out just doing it along with you. Didn’t think I would be able to to be honest. Big thanks for this.

Ever since I got my satin koa ec1000et set up, I’ve been more then happy. I even went back and re-recorded my ep. btw, the standard evertune saddles are more then capable of drop B flat / A sharp with a 13-62 gauge set.

Hello Nick, great video. Thank you very much. In my opinion it's the best video I have ever seen about evertune. I am looking for a new guitar and now I am able to make a right decision. Thank you. King regards from Germany

Hi Nick. You have a great channel, love your videos. I have the same guitar just with distressed hardware. I was wondering if you have a video of how to quickly go from standard D to drop C tuning? If not, maybe you could make a video about that. Would love to see...

so zone 2 is the only way of knowing you are in zone 2 is weather or not you can bend a note?

Great video but I’m stuck on something. I have my 8 string with evertune and I need to go down a half step. I feel like I’m in zone 1 where I can bend but I need to be in zone 3 for bending right. I need help on how to tune it down and have that as zone 3 cuz it’s set up for standard. Standard is zone 2 how do I make it so zone 2 is down in tuning and then adjust from there?

What gauge of strings are you using for drop-C i would like to use a 12-60 gauge or is it to much for the evertune ??

Hey nick. Just got my first guitar with an evertune yesterday. For the most part I’m completely understanding this but confused about a couple things. When tuning is there a particular zone you need to be in or is it whichever zone you want? I prefer zone 3 so I can bend but at the same time I want what zone is best. That being said if I do want zone 3 do I keep going up until the pitch changes and then go back down to tune or do I go up until the pitch chances and then tune instead of going back down to that fine line of zone 2? I hope this isn’t to confusing. Just done want to “mess anything” up if that’s possible. Once again this is all new to me and never heard of evertune until this guitar I got.
