Multiply by 3 in equation 2
9x + 3y = 6 3
Adding eq 1 and 3

5x - 3y = 8
+
9x + 3y = 6

14x = 14

X = 1
Put x=1 in eq 2
3x + y = 2
3X 1 + y = 2
3 + y = 2
y = 2 - 3
y= -1
x = 1 and y=-1 are solution of the given equation
