He was so poor, that he couldn't buy papers. So he used to first write with pencil to do rough work and then write with pen to do fair work. At the age of 13, he used to teach Trigonometry to BA students. He had many diseases, when he was appointed to go to London to work with Hardy and Littlewood, WW1 started. He was a pure vegetarian Hindu Brahmin, so it was very difficult for him whenever vegetables rationed for the war. He got advanced tuberculosis that wasn't known at that time as Amoebiasis. His mother met an astrologer who predicted that if his wife remains closer to him, he would die. So she would not post the letters that Ramanujan's wife wrote. Whenever Ramanujan went to get letters, he would leave disappointed. He fell into depression, because he was bullied by soldiers, remained hungry, had no social life in England, talked to flowers, unfamiliarity to his surroundings, diseases, war, pain in stomach, sleeping empty stomach(just for the sake of religion). He had dreams of goddess lakshmi telling him equations. One day, he was fed up of his life, he used to argue with Hardy, lived on medicines, got no letters from home etc, thus eventually he surrendered himself on the train track, but the locomotive pilot stopped and got him to hospital where he was being treated with Tuberculosis and Pneumonia. Later, he knew he was going to die, and so he left England. At that time, people were reluctant to cremate his body because Brahmins weren't allowed to go overseas, and they all left. He was on his deathbed, alongside his mother and wife, while he was writing on mock theta functions. Then he gave up and his colleagues got him cremated.
He was just 32 years old.

In the land of numbers, he reigned supreme, A mathematician, a genius, a dream, Shrinivas Ramanujan was his name, A prodigy of numbers, his claim to fame.

Born in India, he showed a gift, For numbers and patterns, his mind did sift, At just fourteen, he mastered maths, And by twenty, his skills were world-class.

His life was short, but his work lives on, In theorems and equations, his legacy drawn, From the partitions of numbers to pi, His discoveries still make experts sigh.

With no formal training, he broke new ground, In the world of numbers, his solutions found, A humble man, he left us too soon, But his contribution to maths will forever bloom.

So let us honor this mathematical sage, Whose brilliance still shines in every age, For Ramanujan's work will never fade, In the halls of math, his legacy is made.
