I have 2 ponytail palm which haven't grown at all in a year. I took them out of the pots and they barely have many roots. I've put them outside, fertilized and watered when dry as directed, tried inside, finally put one in water to see if the roots grow more. What am I doing wrong? They both only have like 4 leaves. 🤷🏾‍♀️My other 20 plants are thriving💚

I just pretend like mine doesn't exist and it's happy 🤷🏽‍♀️😂 Too much fuss and water and it won't grow.
