Stopping use of OPV and using IPV only will eradicate poliovirus. Using IPV in resource poor settings and eradicating poliovirus is feasible.

Thank you Vincent. That was excellent. So many well-meaning people continue to talk of polio eradication (Rotary Club for one). While eradication is not possible, continuing to invest in vaccination programs and moving to IPV as the safer means, should be our focus.

Thank you for science. Thank you for your expertise. Now, can we please vaccinate our children with IPV vaccine? All of us? Can we vaccinate for all the usual childhood diseases so we can hsve a much more healthy population? And while we are at it, can people stay home if they think they are getting sick, and can our bosses and teachers stop pressuring sick people to attend school and work to get perfect attendance recognition?

Thanks for the video. btw have you heard of the proposition relating the physical distance between the spine and intestines being a factor? It was to rationalize why it affected children more than adults.

Thanks for this Prof. my jaw dropped when I saw that they were giving OPV in Gaza (unless it was a stock photo). I wish they’d use IPV but realise that keeping it safe in a war situation might be difficult.

Care to clarify if you mean mOPV2 or nOPV2? Do you think the fear of needles as stoked by anti-vax propaganda is a factor in the choice of drinkable vaccine in Gaza? Unethical or misinformed? Also why have other useful vaccines not been combined here? Thank you Vincent
