She studied Nuclear Physics and held prestigious positions
She was the first Black Chair of the NRC

Percy Julian made many medicines
He science’d plants and soybeans
Like physostigmine for glaucoma
And steroids, without horsey pee

1st black resident of ophthalmology
That’s Patricia Bath, New York University
In 1981 she invented a laser
That substantially upgraded cataract surgery
