Why I Rejected My Son's Retirement Offer

My explanation for my decision.

Hey Jess, Jeff and Terry. I totally get Jeffs response to this. I am 35, chronically Ill and have always said I don’t want to be a burden on people. I enjoy work, work hard and save hard. I was adopted and didn’t have a ton of support growing up. As a result my mind is mostly like Jeffs. I don’t want to be a burden. I was a burden in the system and I don’t want that in the future. I would rather be dead. I am not suicidal, but if I did become a burden I would want to take my life. Some people just have that strong independence. Has nothing to do with you Jess. We all have different goals and mine is to rely on nobody. Your dads was a societal thing, mine was experience. You have done wonderful Jess and like pops said, enjoy your life and take care of you. Make sure to save plenty of money in case you or your family do need help one day and then you can step in. So proud of you Jess. Keep working hard and let pops keep working and doing what he does best. We don’t want to loose our favorite pops to a couch potato or something. Love ya all.

Sorry about your loss to your brother Chris, I saw him in Jesses vids and he was a good man @Psycho Dad. Loosing relatives is tough and I've experienced loss in the past to some relatives and friends of mine. That was nice that Jesse offered that retirement offer to you. You are a good dad and family man and keep on making good content Jeff.

Jeff, I understand your point of view as to why you refused your son's retirement offer. You were doing what you thought was best for not only yourself, but your family, too. What I saw is the will of a fine, dedicated husband and father and a hard-working gentleman who didn't want to give up what he devoted his entire life to. I respect that. As the man and father of the house, you wanna be the one taking care of people, you don’t wanna BE taken care of. You wanna take care of everyone for as long as you can and I respect you for that!
