In this metal detecting video, Merrill (Metal Detecting NYC) embarks on an unexpected treasure hunt at a beach where wind plays a crucial role in uncovering hidden treasures. The windy conditions are advantageous as they shift sand and potentially reveal items buried beneath the surface. As Merrill (Metal Detecting NYC) discusses the relationship between wind, water, and beach erosion, they share their observations about the beach's flat appearance, suggesting that recent wave activity may have repositioned items. However, their initial attempts yield minimal signals, prompting a shift to a different area in search of better finds.
As Merrill (Metal Detecting NYC) continues their search, they notice signs that may indicate areas of erosion, such as the presence of fishermen. They humorously connect the activities of fishermen to potential metal detecting opportunities, emphasizing that a beach frequented by fishermen may be a good spot to search for lost coins and jewelry. Merrill (Metal Detecting NYC)'s exploration leads them to various signals, including intriguing finds that hint at the possibility of discovering valuable items. With a focus on deeper targets, Merrill (Metal Detecting NYC) remains optimistic about uncovering something significant as they navigate the beach.
The adventure peaks when Merrill (Metal Detecting NYC) discovers a series of promising signals, ultimately leading to the discovery of a remarkable ring, which appears to be old and possibly valuable. The excitement is palpable as they examine the ring, and they reflect on the various items they've unearthed throughout the day. Despite the challenges of the tides and the need for quick digging, Merrill (Metal Detecting NYC) maintains a humorous and enthusiastic demeanor, showcasing the thrill of the hunt and the joys of beach metal detecting. The video concludes with a promise of more adventures ahead and a reminder of the unpredictable nature of treasure hunting on the beach.

Hi, my name is Merrill Kazanjian. New York City is an amazing place to go metal detecting. We have lots of parks, colonial history and great beaches for beach detecting. I have gone to all five boroughs of New York City To Metal Detect and beyond. I also currently own 22 metal detectors. I want to have the best and I want to help you choose the best as well. Below I will showcase some of the playlists on this channel:

I have a playlist of metal detecting videos to teach metal detecting. The videos in the playlist below are specifically made to teach the skills and mindset to becoming a great metal detectorist.

I am a treasure hunter. So in addition to metal detecting, I go mudlarking at sites in New York City. Think of mudlarking as metal detecting without a metal detector.

I think that "sprocket" is a runner from a vintage umbrella. The runner can sometimes resemble a sprocket due to its toothed design, which helps it grip and hold the umbrella canvas ribs securely. The runner's movement along the shaft is what enables the umbrella to transition between open and closed states.

Never fails. Fresh or salt water. While scuba diving and hand tanning the bottom for treasure I get the feeling I’m being watched. Fish. Little fish will dart in and out of the hole for worms and critters. Then big fish will show up for the smaller fish. It’s a festival.
