Mailer’s films histrionic hubris that would go over well in a madhouse.

An answer, five months late: Amazon offers a Region 2 DVD of "Wild 90, " which is also included in a DVD set from Criterion, "Eclipse Series 35: Maidstone and Other Films by Norman Mailer."

You know, looking at films like Wild 90 and Maidstone, I can draw two conclusions: 1.) The 1960s were as full of shit as today; 2.) I'm glad I wasn't there to experience it.

I have seen clips of the these .Beyond The Law was supposed to be the best of them . Mailer went for improv and non artifice in these films . Wild 90 and Maidstone looked interesting but I could see myself getting bored and walking out after 10 minutes of it and go to see some regular Hollywood artifice . I think Monster Mogul Harry Cohn was right when he signed The Three Stooges up “ You belong in shorts !”
