This was my first Dead Rebel effect (which I only got 3 weeks ago. I have since got 5 of their effects thanks to your reviews!) and I’ve completely rewritten the story, adding a name to the “spirit” that is attached to Alexander Hart, bringing out her photo of what she looked like when she was alive (something I created in ai) along with her black scrying mirror pendant which I have the spectator use to pick out the spirit card associated with Hart.

Once that is done, a Spirit Bell rings signifying that she is in the room with us, so I then use my Spirit Slates for her to write on, answering the question: “What has become of Alexander Hart?” I’ve turned it all into a nice 10 to 15 minute, haunted mini-Séance. I also created my own handwritten journal entry from Hart, hand aged my self.

That’s what I’m really liking about the Dead Rebel effects, they’re easy to adapt to your own performance style.

I wish they did not make the cards glossed. Matte cards would add to the Victorian spookiness aesthetic.

I bought this on release. Performed it 20+ times so far. Beautiful set of cards. Another subtle feature is that the cards are designed so when a spirit card is selected and removed the spirit card underneath is still the correct card so it appears that nothing changed in the card stack.
You also receive a link to a printable .pdf file of a journal entry form the nephew of Alexander Hart detailing his travels in South America and "peculiar tea" from the Amazon resulting in the haunting hallucinations. I printed mine on some aged paper from an Etsy dealer.

I like a lot of elements of Dead Rebel Magic, but their overreliance on AI keeps me from buying anything. In this deck specifically there's an artists image very clearly manipulated by AI
