Aboriginal schoolboy killed in violent Perth assault | The Point | NITV

Cassius Turvey, a 15-year-old Noongar boy died after a senseless attack in Perth's eastern suburbs.

A man has appeared in the Midland Magistrates Court charged with murder following a brutal assault on a 15-year-old.

After the attack, Cassius had a large gash to his head requiring seven stitches, and his ear was slashed. Following treatment, he was discharged and returned home.
In the following hours, he experienced severe pain and began to seize. Returning to the hospital, he was placed in an induced coma. Later, he underwent brain surgery at Perth Children’s Hospital to relieve swelling and bleeding on the brain but suffered two strokes. On Sunday 23 October, Cassius passed.

Mechelle Turvey wants her son to be remembered as a much-loved teenager who loved basketball and football, willing to give anything a go.

"He looks after everyone and has this beautiful gift of making people smile and laugh, and uplifting people," she said.

I am just finding out about this in London England. I am so incredibly sorry so incredibly sorry for this family’s loss. In the 21st-century this crap is still going on and what’s shocking about this is that it’s not being spoken about or shouted about by the Australian media. This was a racially motivated let’s not beat around the bush about this and Australia needs to get uncomfortable and talk about this otherwise it is going to happen again and again and again.
