Hoya Haul | Adding Big Leaf Veiny Hoyas To My Collection

In this video I share another houseplant haul video, Hoya edition. I love Hoyas and I think they are one of the easiest houseplants to care for. They’re so fun to collect and watch them grow, with so many varieties to choose from, I couldn’t help but add these Hoyas to my collection. Although Hoyas are known and often collected for their beautiful blooms, they've recently became popular in the community today for their beautiful and striking foliage.

The Hoyas in this houseplant haul includes the Big Leaf Macrophylla and Latifolia, Hoya Meredithii, Hoya Callistophylla and Finlaysonii Long Leaf version, a rare Hoya Sp. Tangamus and Clemensiorium, and my new favorite hoya, Irina, the cultivar from Meredithii and Finlaysonii.

Maybe it's just me (& I'm NO expert) but it looks like you may have your callistophylla and finlaysonii mixed up. I can't say for sure but I will say this: my finlaysonii has thinner leaves (I wouldn't quite call them "papery", but decidedly close to that texture) and my callistophylla has stiffer, thicker feeling leaves. Of course, my opinion is only based on watching you hold them side-by-side. Love your videos and I am really hoping to get a larger leaf hoya soon! The Sarawak is at the top of my list right now!

There are 2 channels which specialize in rare hoyas: basie plants and doug chamberlain. They are both very knowledgeable. I bet if you looked back at their videos you would find some answers. Basie plants had a video about how many hoyas are misidentified and sold as something else. I know if you reached out to them they would help you.

you are correct in your identification of your finlaysonii. i am very familiar with it as i have a big one trained up a moss pole. wonderful haul, christian! enjoy!

Cool Hoyas and yes I agree sometimes we get the plants With wrong names because the sellers or suppliers put wrong names or doesn't even put any tags on the plants. Thanks for sharing your plant haul and can't wait to see what plants your selling. Good luck 👍

Beautiful hoyas! I just picked up a Mathilda and Krohniana today. They are small so I can’t wait to see them grow. They join about eight other Hoya types that I have.
