Herodotus in Book 3, Thaleia, returns back to the Campaign against Amasis and the causes that caused it. It describes the Battle of Pelion, the conquest of Egypt, the subjugation of Kyrenia and Libya, the campaign against Ethiopians and Ammonians and the conquest of Cyprus.
Herodotus in book 3 also describes the campaign of the Lacedaemonians and Corinthians against Samos, the uprising of Pseudomasserde, the rebellion of the Magi, the death of Kambousi and the emergence of Darius as the king of the Persians.
