Haven't had a pick in years, and it's definitely influenced the way I play.

I love how David shares his knowledge. This is a passionate man graciously sharing his years of experience to us in a manner that is not alienating and very comprehensible! I love watching your videos. Kudos to you Dave! God bless!

It was surprising to me how much Vpicks changed my tone and even helped improve my playing. The fullness and dynamic range is huge. I kept trying thicker and thicker ones until i stuck mostly with the psycho. Certain ones like the mummy give a special effect and sometimes its hard to control string noise with really thick ones. I keep a few available and switch sometimes for different song styles. The people that own vpicks are great people too. Strongly recommended. You'll be surprised at what a difference a pick can make.

I love the V Pick Tradition Lite 1.5mm

the pick has to match the color of the guitar. Otherwise you have no inspiration as you think about unmatched picks.

Choosing a pick takes a lot of time and experimentation, but players usually find what's right for them, no matter how weird some choices seem.

I settled on a type that hasn't been produced in a couple decades, and was lucky to have snatched up enough spares to last the rest of my life. I tried to change to more conventional picks many times, but I always go back to my favorite.

I've gone round and round, trying mostly Dunlop picks (my favorites), finally settling on the Dunlop Max Grip 1.14. Total surprise to me.

I like a fairly heavy pick with some texture.. makes it easier to keep a grip on..

I also love my V Picks. For electric lead I use the Venom.

I think it is more about the feel--but to be frank, they all sounded exactly the same to me.

My main pick were herco.
Use em for about 90% of my playing.
I use the side with nibble a lot more then the tip for those the edge scratchy sound.

Aside from that i got about 50 more that I choose for specific stuff.

I love some 2.00mm picks. The Dunlop purple ones to be exact love them.

I am addicted to the jazz 3 but I've had a couple of Vpicks that were great.

I have been using Clayton picks for a year or so after being recommended by an incredibly talented guitarist when I asked him how he got his unique sound. Clayton Ultem 1.20 mm picks, incredibly good sound and very similar to the sound from picks made of turtle shells that are forbidden to buy!

Ernie Ball prodigy picks are the best and is all that i use. The 1.5 standard shapes are perfect. Not too big but not quite as small as a jazz 3. Has beveled edges and a pointed tip. To me theres nothing on the market that can beat it.

I only use one type of guitar pick… so I’ll just stick to the Dunlop Tortex 0.60mm Flow. 😄👍

I was attacked by a drunk guy with a knife many years ago and, he seriously wounded my right index finger. So, with the nerve damage he caused, finding a pick I can use and after years of trial and error, I finally settled on Dragon Heart picks…I still have to drill small divots for extra grip.

Very good information here. Do the textured edges affect speed picking for you? For instance, is there increased friction against the strings?
