I love how Quebec eventually got tired and made their own party

People here in Canada have been saying that the country has never been so divided after the 2019 election (the Liberals won the election but have no seats in Alberta or Saskatchewan). There's even people seriously talking about separation. But honestly it's been much more divided in the past from what I see here.

Edit: I made this comment 10 months ago and why is it exploding all of the sudden? YouTube algorithm I guess...

This chart gives the impression that the Canadian House of Commons is voted in by a unanimous vote of each province, like (most of) the US electoral college when voting for a President.

Each riding is independent, and that would show a much more accurate view of what the HoC looks like.

I like how conservatives are doing well late 1900, then Kim Campbell

Could you do Finnish parliamentary elections? That would be nice. Also I find your videos extremely relaxing.

not sure why the elections are grouped into provinces in this video. Individual ridings are the ones that matter.

Hey you should do another British election video with the recent election having happened and all that.

So basically what happened in the US (democrats have the popular vote but still lost) happened to Canada but the other way around

1979 shows an interesting result in the Northwest Territories. The Liberals won the popular vote, but the two seats split NDP-PC (the Liberals placed second in both).

as an American, it always amazes me just how sparsely populated Canada has been and continues to be. Just reflecting on this while looking at the fact the amount of people that voted Republican in this year's election is more than twice the size of the entire Canadian population

Probably a dumb question but if you start a political party do you get to pick the colour?

I like how there are no solid political boundaries like there are in the United States. Provinces are constantly flipping, sometimes being a mix of different minority parties. That is unless you count Alberta, which will probably always be the most conservative province.

2019 election: Liberal popular vote 33.07%, (#2 by popular vote) seats won 46.45%

Great videos! Could you perhaps do Greek legislative elections sometime in the future? Either 1974-2019 or 1946-2019.
