How to Tie a Tarbuck Knot

Welcome to my channel How to Knot and in this video, I will be showing you how to tie a tarbuck knot. This knot is typically used in applications such as general purposes and camping. An adjustable look which does grip well under load, but unfortunately can slip due to excessive strain. More than three turns are not recommend inside the loop as it can cause gripping and sliding issues and is not recommend for use on synthetic ropes.

Start by creating a loop.

Wrap the working end around three times within that loop.

It helps if you coil these wraps up tighter as it makes it easer when finalizing this knot.

Warp back above the loop.

Wrap around the standing part and then feed the working end back.
