With inflation soaring, a possible recession looming, and Americans dealing with political fallout from Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, policies aimed at helping families with children—including possible reforms to the child tax credit—are back in the forefront of the national policy discussion.

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) will outline his vision for how public policy can best support American families. Then AEI’s Robert Doar and Sen. Romney will discuss his recently proposed Family Security Act 2.0, which aims to reform existing, complex federal programs into one straightforward pro-family, pro-life, and pro-work benefit. Following the discussion with the senator, a panel of policy experts will discuss their visions for the future of child-related benefits, with the shared goal of better supporting families.

I really like Romney, he reminds me of Jack Kemp - when's the last time you heard anyone pragmatically laying out a vision for support for the American Family? We might not agree on every policy, but we agree on the problem...

To value our values, how much can secular government policy actually impress 'social man' into liberating oneself from being overly liberated, for narcissists to love outwardly toward active civil engagement in improving the emperical world so that it bears his mark upon its improved form that the effort was good and outlived the man-that all life can be meaningful, that one's life work including progeny, may well live on eternally and as evidence and proof the man's life benefitted the world and that society recognizes such examples?

...This can be born out through other means, but not through enacting of credits though certainly despite (or, rather, in spite!) of their absence, man improves himself by overcoming obstacles and absence of obstacles only yields unimproved or even weakened man. Yes, I 'borrowed' the concept from Nietzsche's "superman", which simply put is that evolved man/superman is man that overcame obstacles; In Darwinian terms, obstacles not overcome arguably and often the cruelty of legitimate nature, only trumped in cruelty by external intervention to remove said obstacle and thus crippling man's ability to become improved and fully able.

Nihilists would hypothetically attain an even more profound comprehension for their belief in the meaninglessness of life, in a Commutopia where jobs are no longer married to the labor of man, removing demand of man removes supply of man - So, man will invent or not institute such environment that man has no jobs with which to imbue a pathos of meaning and proof of life for the ego - Cognitive dissonance can only go so far in a lived existence with so many contradictions to the existence and its absolute requisite for engagement, that the mind demands for demands upon it and that they not be perceived as artificial. Perhaps Stoicism will save some of the lifes from this continual epidemic of depopulation, especially deleterious among a specific US demographic. This assumes the continued march away from our centuries and millennia old religious institutions and extending to belief in a 'higher authority' than man, sadly oftentimes bundled with the universal values/morals when discarded, thus 'the baby is thrown out with the bathwater'.

Mittens: No one is doing anything about this country's debt.
Also Mittens: Here's my new entitlement program.

Wish we had more lawmakers today like Romney who are ready to negotiate with the other party and try to solve our country's problems.
