Determine if the Lines of 2 Linear Equations are Parallel, Perpendicular, or Neither

Показать описание
To find out if two lines are parallel, perpendicular, or neither, the key is to find the slope. Probably the easiest way to find the slope is to put the equations into slope-intercept form. Once they are in slope-intercept form, we can compare the slopes. If they are the same, they lines are parallel. If they slopes are the negative reciprocal (flipped fraction & changed sign), they are perpendicular. If the slopes don't seem to be related in any way, the lines cross, but not in a special way, so neither.
