Todd McFarlane is no stranger to legal battles over his comic book creations. Today, we're learning about the time when a hockey player named Tony Twist sued McFarlane for a Spawn character with a similar name, Antonio Twistelli for MILLIONS of dollars! It's a classic case of jock vs nerd!

I read spawn as often as I can from # 3 on up, never heard of tony twist the hockey player till right now.

In true Tony Twist style, he got his money, soo the comic was right he is/was a crook mobster punk .

This is just a money grab from the hockey dude. SOOOO What if you name a dude in a comic the same name as a real life person. The dude in the comic has like no relation. Nobody reading a spawn comic is going to care about this hockey dude and nobody in the hockey scene is going to care about it in the comic. This hockey dude saw that his name was in the comic, saw that he could easily sue and did(I'm sure that chill people wouldn't give a crap if their name was in it anyway).
