Legal Studies in the News - Police Strip Searches

While security is a fundamental requirement at large scale events, there has been a rising chorus of complaints about the practice of strip-searching, especially at Music Festivals. These complaints, including an incident with an Aboriginal boy in a regional country town, were investigated and the findings released. These found that police were not trained to an adequate degree and changes need to occur in order for Police to adhere to the power they have been given.
