Golf 8 GTE (245hp) | DRIVE & SOUND | by Automann

Today I can present to you a more intense DRIVE & SOUND of the all-new 2020 / 2021 VW Golf 8 GTE , the "hybrid GTI" delivering 245hp & 400 Nm of torque through a 6-speed DSG. Specifically the design really makes a difference to the "normal" eTSI Golf 8 and I'm getting warm with this more and more. I have to say I didn't like the new lights of the Golf 8 at first but the more often I see them the more I like them!

Ja, der gute, "alte" 1.4er TSI mit 150 PS macht auch im Golf 8 GTE einen ordentlichen Job. In ähnlicher Bauart arbeitet dieser Motor auch in meinem 2016er Golf 7. Bin damit ganz zufrieden und ich denke, dass er auch wesentlich zuverlässiger ist im Vergleich zu seinen Vorgängern. Nur mit der Bedienung des Multimediasystems im Golf 8 werde ich nicht warm, das wird auch immer wieder in der Fachpresse kritisiert (z. B. Autobild oder Auto Motor und Sport).

Love the new look and improved power output! Slightly disappointed by the lack in upgrading the gearbox to a 7-speed DSG but overall a nice new gen. Wish they made the facelift in White Silver! Love that colour!

I love that there is some engine noise, rather than total silence. Total silence in a car just seems wrong to me.

They should definitely fit the VAQ differential to the GTE model, and it is also disappointing it has the old 6-speed DSG vs. the newer 7-speed unit. I was also really hoping we would see VW release a 8, 9 or 10 speed DSG, but it seems their investments are completely focused on the EV revolution instead of any new engines or transmissions.

Aviso a navegantes. VW Golf 8 GTE comprado en febrero de 2023 ya lleva un mes en el taller con problemas de ruidos en la caja de cambios. Si estáis interesados el algún modelo como este pensarlo muy bien antes de adquirirlo os evitaréis muchos problemas.

Hey, ich stehe aktuell zwischen Golf 8 und Passat. Was genau ist denn das attraktivere Fahrzeug aus deiner Sicht? GTE beide versteht sich. Fahrprofil mässig läuft es eher auf ein entspanntes cruisen aus. Keine bis wenig sportliche Fahrweise (eventuell einmal im Monat um den Staudamm)
