this years badge was a not even yet release raspberry pi pico chip with a lcd screen buttons accelorometer rtc infrared and sd card

that alone was cool but wait theres more
it shipped with a gameboy emulator you could upload your own roms too

BUT FUCKING WAIT
CAUSE THERES MORE

they built a entire game for the badge that not only unlocked little easter eggs but the actual in game map WAS A MAP OF THE ACTUAL CONFERENCE your badge served as a interactive map telling you what was around the convention and how to find it and what was going on

BUT JESUS FUCK WILL YOU PLEASE WAIT BECAUSE THERES MORE

the badge had a rtc and you had to set the DAY and the TIME in the badge it would actually let you know what talks were going on at that moment and the time that future talks would be taking place

they did all this (oh and they made so many they have them for sale on defcons website)

and last year that woman couldnt even get a simple god damn plastic badge made in time
