what if i just want to record myself playing guitar and adding my own vocals? Where or what line would you start this on because those computer simulated instruments are already on the screen?

I just purchased and installed focusrite 2i2 scarlett, which came with Pro Tools First. Sounds like my initial frustrations are the same as what other people have been experiencing. Had hoped it wouldn't turn into to this so soon, but guess I better start looking at alternative interfaces.

Sounds like you guys have gotten further than me. After dealing with all the iLok hurdles, Pro Tools First just stays at "Initializing Hardware" and does nothing else. Wonderful.

Avid is an amazing company. Never in my life have I seen a company that was more successful at making the industry standard seem like a poor option. It takes a strong team of obnoxious runts to put this roadblock together.

It is a little funny that the AVID guy didn't use the built in de esser or a pop filter... Just a thought for the multi million pound company.

This might be a stupid question, but what does he mean at 0:12 when he says "have your audio interface connected"? What is an audio interface? How do I connect it? Is it necessary?
