The use elderberry is thought to date back to Ancient Egypt and this potent plant was described by Hippocrates as a “medicine chest” because of its many medicinal uses. Elderberry is one of the top antiviral herbs on the planet and can aid in symptom reduction for colds and flu as well as inflammation and pain, allergies and sinus infections. Elderberries are also higher in flavonoids than blueberries, cranberries, blackberries and goji berries. This week we're making Elderberry Gummies, a fabulous way to get a potent dose of elderberry. The addition of vitamin C from the lemon and orange help to fight infection as well and the gelatin in this recipe is very therapeutic for the lining of the gut.
