I'm finishing sock toes today on a batch of stockings made on an antique circular stocking knitting machine, and I thought you all might like to see how the toes are closed using a Kitchener stitch.

Fantastic! My husband is 3d printing me a circular sock machine, so hopefully I'll get started in the new year!

This is so helpful because I took a quick sock making course on an old stocking machine and I couldn’t remember how I was supposed to finish them when I got home.

I absolutely love this. Thank you for sharing. It's so interesting to sees a kitchener stich being used on a machine knitted item!

This content is great, makes me want to go out and buy a stocking maker. ❤

The most satisfying thing is removing the waste yarn! Do film that and share!

Maybe fix the knots with wax?Beeswax would help and would wear off over time, especially if you put heat on it but looping tufts just make more sense than on and off the needle!!!

Your way looks much much better!

I wish I had a sock knitter. I've looked online, but they are all pretty crappy.

I want one of those stocking machines so much, but they are about $3, 000, more if antique 🥲
