I don’t think the cutscenes and stuff are the problem, they literally do it in Genshin, HSR, and even ZZZ where the main characters are fully voiced in the story. I think they just wanted him out 😂

I'm more concerned about the VA for Male Dreamseeker, he(they, as both CN and JP) never really got a chance to shine. I hope they are cast for a future story character.

Couldnt they have just made male dreamseeker an alternative skin for female dreamseeker where he only shows up in exploration and combat but when cutscenes and dialogues happen it reverts back to female dreamseeker, they could have like a message pop up when switching to him saying that its cosmetic purposes only and that only fds is the canon one

As I understand and saw most of the female gacha fandom in CN just want husbandos for their yaoi or reverse harem fantasy. Most of the male CN fandom want a male self-insert with an harem full of girls. Mihoyo gave a male self-insert, the captain, to Honkai Impact and the rest of the cast are mostly girls and almost all of them are head over heals for the captain, so the male CN fandom liked it. Then Mihoyo introduced another male self-insert, Adam and they hated him cause despite being also a self-insert they fandom already identify as the captain so Adam was a rival for the girls' love instead. The CN fandom becomes extremely jealous and annoyed if another male character gets friendly with a female character. Then part 2 arrived and to try to mimic Genshin or HSR success they made a pair of self-inserts with choosable gender to try to make HI3 more popular. But again the male dreamseeker is hated because the fandom just see the captain as the harem king

And I was hoping that Genshin and HSR would also introduce a system for choosing the main character at any time.
