Only the red of the rgb led's are glowing, because they require less power than green and blue led's.

You have no way to bias the circuit. The music would have to be so loud it would damage your hearing. And that mic is passing 12 volts. It’s not at all designed for the application your using it for

so how long did that mic last with one transistor and 12 volts. Also, is there a method to use that eliminates the microphone being held a 1/8 inch from the speaker. I really need my hand free for my beer. I still might try it out if its safe though... Nice video!!

Can I do this with a Tri Color LED? With a common anode?

And if I do... will I need a Resistor for the red color since it gas a forward voltage of 2v? And both Green and Blue are at 3v...

So will I get the same effect if I have a power supply of a button cell battery of 3v?

Or will I have to get a 12v battery? I want to keep this thing small and this device seems to be a really good application.

What happens if i solder a RCA jack instead of the Microphone to this construction and plug it into an output socket of my Hi-Fi amplifier? Will the resistor and the transistor be the right ones?

I also want to use a white RGB strip.

your using RGB strip, but your only doing red...

Some suggestions
-Use a p2 jack instead of microphone or
-Use a audio amplifier, like lm386
-If using transistor, it would be better biaising it
-Or try with one more transistor

Whats the point of having a mic? You HAVE TO HAVE the tunes sitting ON THE MIC for it to BARELY work. Try again man.

Great video, I did and it worked, but the response of the LEDs is triggered slowly and when the volume of the audio is very high, I want to know if there is how to modify the sensitivity so that the LEDs on have a fast and strong response.
