For your application it might be worth placing the oil cooler further away from the engine and add a fan with a temperature switch. To force some more air thru the radiator if it gets hot.

I guess the hate for this style comes from people who never tinker around themselves and thus are a bit lost, as to what it is that you are doing at any given moment.

I just started watching now so I have no idea what is your end result but you gotta protect that muffler from water as much as you can.
Since the supports for the muffler are mounted to the middle of it it will rust through in no time, it's only about 1mm thick or so.

I always use Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil in all of my small engines. Smart choice. Also use fully synthetic in all of my vehicles as well.
