I’m 51 and been a Maiden fan since I was 13!
I’ll never forget Ms. Love who was my 9th grade English teacher in High school when she pulled out an LP and Rime of the Ancient Mariner started playing in class! This was part of our lesson!

Around since the 70s when I was a teenager, IRONMAIDEN stands the test of time especially when it comes to hard-core heavy metal. The news is going OVERKILL on the total eclipse Monday the 6th of April 2024 so in memory of past eclipses this song, the B side of Run to the Hills came to mind. Not bad. Sunrise is gone. When Bruce screamed then, for me, Iron On Maiden became a hard rock band worth listening to. And the next week they were supporting the Scorpions in 82. I was blessed to see them open twice in 3 days on the Number of the Beast tour. Clive was one of the top 3 drummers I ever saw-heard live. R.I.P.

In my opinion, songs like this are really important as they serve as transition songs in Maiden's style. Number of the beast was a bridging album between early and later Iron Maiden. It had elements of Killers (Gangland) and Peace of Mind (Total Eclipse) and also in my mind was the foundation for Maiden's galloping rhythm.
