Divi 5 Alpha: First Impressions by an Elementor User

Here's a first impression of Divi 5 from an Elementor and Bricks user. The public alpha was recently released for testing, and my friend kindly set it up for me to try.

I'm not an experienced Divi user, so please pardon any mistakes and let me know in the comments.

Nice video and good points. Even it’s an Alpha I doubt they will add your point raised to Divi 5. It’s more about bug fixing. Add to library is saving a row to library for reuse like Elementor templates.

I thought that they would introduce flexbox in Divi 5. I am disappointed to hear that this is still not supported.

In DIVI, we do not use wordpress builtin Customizer that you are thinking belong to DIVI. You can overwrite everything that you are complaining of the content width from DIVI Theme Builder.

No way I switch to Divi from using Elementor

I have never liked the way you have to work with Divi on the actual page itself by clicking buttons and adding modules etc... so I personally have very limited experience with it. I was hoping in the new version they would scrap that way of working and bring it into 2024/25 when it comes to flex and grid and so forth. It appears in this new version all they have done is upgraded the user interface and made it much faster to work with. Sadly it looks like they have not learned anything new so I will not be using it. Also where is the div layout module in Divi? lol

Once I was about to be hired by a good web design company, but when I realized they were using DIVI for their projects, I was quite disappointed. It seemed so limited in so many ways that it felt like a builder that, instead of making things easier, complicated absolutely everything. In the end, I turned down the job offer because of it
