The historical context you set for this lesson was very helpful to me. I think I've been "spoiled" by the chronolgical record in the Book of Mormon and confused by the chronology of the OT. Understanding Ezra and Nehemiah as the "end of the historical record" makes a difference.

Thank you sister Wilson. I love your lessons, I listen to them over and over as they contain so much information. I am 84 and a former Baptist minister who was led by the Holy Spirit 52 years ago to read the Book of Mormon. My father also a Baptist minister and was upset that I joined the "Mormon Church". I pestered him and my mother until they finally told me "Ronnie, if you will leave us alone we will read the Book of Mormon." Four months later my dad and mom said they know the Book of Mormon is true and they wanted to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The first year 14 members of my family and extended family comprising 4 generations joined the restored Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My father served as Bishop and mother as Relief Society President. Later they served a full time mission to Bath, NY where dad organized a Branch under the Stake President direction and served a 6 month extended mission as he was the Branch President. I have been the Ward organist off and on (depending on my other callings) for 52 years). The Lord has been a part of my life with a major happening when I was 9 years of age. In 1948 I was listening to my shortwave radio and heard the United Nations take a vote to create a land of Israel. Wow, I witnessed a miracle, Israel had to be Restored before Christ 2nd Coming, also His Church had to be Restored. Where was it, I didn't know but I was looking for it. When I was preaching a sermon in the Baptist Church, the Holy Spirit spoke to me when I was there is no other scripture than the Holy Bible "How do you know that is true", shot in my mind, well I didn't only that was the position of the Baptist Church. I got a Book of Mormon and took the missionary discussions and found that this is the Church that was promised to be Restored. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the restored church of Jesus Christ. I know it and cannot deny it, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Thank you Sister Hilton Yes a cycle occurs when a people who belonged in the fold then leave the covenant path for the world then because of rejection this leads to animosity against the covenant people of the Church. Its a weird situation and happens. Repentance is the road back of course not manipulation.
