Why don't these politicians then lower the price of annulments for God's sake? 200, 000 pesos is a total ripoff for an annulment that cost $600.00 in the states. Most Filipinos can not afford an annulment here. If you want to make everyone happy LOWER THE COST of an annulment.

Sana Rep. Abante eh mag-ok ka na sa Divorce bill kc yung mga poor Filipinos eh makapag-file kc mababa lang ang babayaran sa court fees at attorney's fees. Panahon na para ma legalize ang divorce sa pinas. Ang mga ayaw nito di naman kayo pipilitin mag divorce so hayaan nyo yung may mga kailangan nito. Yung mga mag-asawa na wala ng chance pagsama pa dapat may legal option sila mag remarry ulit and hindi maging mga anak sa labas ang kanilang bagong pamilya. Hindi ito nakakasira ng pagkatao. I believe it is positive news that the Philippines has finally legalized divorce. As a daughter who comes from a broken family, I understand that it is sometimes better to separate than to remain in a loveless marriage.

Of course, marriage is a sacred institution, and couples who are experiencing difficulties should make every effort to resolve their issues and not view divorce as an easy way out. However, in situations where the problems are insurmountable, it may be in the best interests of all parties involved, especially the children, to go their separate ways. Children can suffer greatly and even be traumatized by living in a dysfunctional or unhappy home environment.
