2024 FORD F150 Pro Access Tailgate – Super Dumb or Super Clever?

For the 2024 model year, customers can choose to more easily access the Ford F-150 truck bed after Ford widened the step cut-out and increased bumper depth to create our best tailgate experience yet: Pro Access Tailgate. (Customers can also choose to stick with a classic tailgate.)   

The F-150 with available Pro Access Tailgate is the only pickup in its class to offer a 100-degree fully opened integrated swing gate.

In your opinion, is it super dumb or super clever?

Super dumb. I'd rather be able to set things on the tailgate then climb up the step to load them. They no longer offer the regular tailgate step in the 2024s. If they did I would probably buy a new one now.

Honestly, it's super dumb.. GM's tailgate design looks far more clean and comes with more functionality.

Dumb. All these tail gates have loading problems you can't put much weight on the center of the tailgates because of all the complexity.

I have a ram with the boxes and the swing tailgate, I'm sorry Ford and GM will never make anything as useful and practical as that set up!!! Never...
