Fun fact: Sally’s voice actress had a loose tooth while she was recording her lines for this special, and after her rant about missing out on Halloween, the tooth fell out while shouting “You Owe Me Restitution!!!”

This program aired on CBS during my youth, moved to ABC during my adulthood. When it aired on CBS, it often preceded a Bugs Bunny Halloween special or the Garfield Halloween show. It was a treat because my parents would not permit me and my brothers to watch television on weeknights. These shows would air, and the family would gather. Years later, I met the woman who became my wife & we would eagerly and excitedly enjoy the Great Pumpkin every October, laughing at each other as we recited the lines. It was again a loving memory.
This is the first year I will be watching the Great Pumpkin without my wife, as she passed away on December 23, 2022. I am starting to cry now, so i will stop typing. thank you for reading.

I can't wait to snuggle in with a blanket and a cup of coffee and watch this like I do every fall. Complete masterpiece! Vince Guaraldi was a genius.

I listen to all three soundtracks (Christmas, Halloween, and Thanksgiving) whenever I am feeling down and it always brightens my day. The specials wouldn't be anything with out the music. And vice versa. Thank you Charles Shultz and VG Trio.

Oh, what a time to be growing up. This is the sound of the Fall and my childhood. All was right in our world back then. We couldn't wait to watch the Charlie Brown specials.

I don’t even have to watch it to know what’s going on just listening to it is enough. Thanks for this.

I live in Florida where there are really only two seasons- Summer (hot as hell, rainy, humid) and Spring (less hot, dry and comfy). I'm from Ohio originally so I do miss the colors and crisp, cool air of a true northern fall. This soundtrack has a way of taking me back to those fall days of my youth in southern Ohio, playing in the fallen leaves raked high into giant piles, cool mornings marching to school and just enjoying life during the colorful pageantry. My mother would always have this movie on the TV when it was aired, it was like a final ritual for us, clearing the way to pumpkin pies, thanksgiving hams and all the dietary delights that comes with the holiday seasons. I listen to it now as a treat to myself when we reach this time of year, maybe a bit early this year, but I very much needed the great memories and calming effect it has on me with all that is going on in the world now to cause us stress. We certainly shouldn't need an excuse to enjoy the musical genius of Vince Guraldi, and this movie and soundtrack are true classics!

Reminds me of being a student at NYU twenty years ago. The Starbucks off Washington Square was forever playing this music in the fall.
