Andrew, I have never seen such good use of authentic language and accent in my life put to film.
It’s genuinely incredible, and I would love to see a short little video on how to kinda brainstorm things like that.
I’m the type to get super into things like accurate linguistics and uniforms and materials. Even what literature the characters would have had access to in their period, often going a decade or two prior if a character must own a certain book to make reference of.

And I deeply commend the fact that you didn’t shy away from how terrible people were, and what horrible perceptions people often had in the past regarding, their fellow human beings. You don’t use words to hurt or spread hatred, but to show the true nature of the period and the people within it; what their thoughts were, and how they saw things around them.

Please ignore the weird “writer’s” style of the comment. I have a very weird vocabulary from taking in so much antiquated writing over the years, lmao.

Also, I’d be interested in how you did the more violent scenes. I’m a massive Savini fan, and I’m still trying to figure out my own ways of creating theatrical violence.

I discovered you recently, and I'm studying in detail the Civil War by first reading Shelby Foote's seminal 3 volume work. I really appreciate all your videos on the CW and other topics, and particularly appreicate your video on Confederate monuments. I agree with you that those monuments glorifying the Confederacy should be removed, but it should be due to local sentiment, not state or federal actions. Relocating these monuments to another site may lead to those sites becoming shrines to Confederate apologists and neo-nazis, but those groups are fading into the dust bin of history and relevance. Your rendition of the Gettysburg Address was profound and moviing.

I have to admit the film was a bit much for me, all the blood and debauchery aren't for the faint of heart.
