I really enjoyed watching this, it was the best and most competent ultimate general playthrough i've seen, especially enjoyed your commentary.

When I play this game I feel like I try to do this meticulous infantry formation and get my artillery massed at the highest elevation but it all falls apart whenever i have to attack up a forested hill. It seems like you just attack over as wide a front as possible and keep throwing men in and don't especially worry where your artillery is as long as its close to the front line.

Well what you haft to remember is that the most important goal for the confereants is to keep the army intact, you lost 40% of your army to control a useless field with a town on it. Granted the Union lost more but they still outnumber you heavily, more so than before. They can just retreat in good order because you choosed to rest instead to crush them.  What is the army of north Virginia gonna do now? Stroke the filed with 40k troops all tired and outnumbered? The goal which was to take Washington dc is no longer possible.
