SUPERBOOTH 2022 AKAI MPC OS 2.11 Exclusive Preview

The MPC OS continue3s to evolve and we were allowed into the secret room to get a preview of the new 2.11 OS which will drop on June 23rd.

Andy Mac was on hand to show us through the new patch browser, ratchet, key grouping and FX that will be on the table come the date.

Stay tuned it will be available June 23rd and free to all compatible MPC devices

Another awesome update! Akai if you’re reading this one feature that would be super awesome is a graphic equalizer/frequency spectrum analyzer which can be applied to individual tracks or the master as an effect. Would definitely help speed up the process of mixing/balancing/mastering on the device without having to export to external software/equipment

Akai mpc software needs to add audio and instrument tracks in song mode to be able to do complete songs without having to do it in one sequence so we can edit individual sequences easier while building a complete song

These updates have transformed my MPC from Bruce Banner to the incredible Hulk!!

KEY RANGE is feature I will most definitely be using, great stuff for hardware setup sequencers like myself.

Air flavor as well, plenty of Lo-fi stuff was possible before, but sticking it in one spot is a good move.

Looking forward to demo-ing the update!

Great to see the new Tuner. I'm hoping they make it possible to copy Sequences with less button presses and no modals. Maybe when you are in the next sequence screen, by holding the copy button, pressing the sequence pad you want to copy followed by the sequence pad you want to copy it to.

Also it would be good for the projects to load faster, especially if the new set list function is to be usable in a gig context.

Otherwise it's great to see progress. Looking forward to the moment we get the mixer and arranger from the force. Hopefully the matrix view too, to replace the confusing clip launch track type. Finally it would be less confusing if the Audio tracks appeared as a track type rather than a separate parallel universe.

You too can add ratcheting to your notes, all you need to do is select, swipe, swipe, click, swipe, cancel, swipe, swipe, cancel, stop playback, start, stop, swipe, switch screens, start again, swipe, select, zoom, select, click, swipe, swipe, swipe, swipe, swipe, swipe, click, swipe. Gotta love touchscreens.
