THE GOLD STANDARD
The Royal Canadian Mint's Gold Maple Leaf (GML) coins are among the world's most popular pure gold coins, having sold more than 25 million troy ounces since their introduction in 1979. The GML was also the first bullion coin to achieve the heightened standard of 9999 pure.

ENHANCED SECURITY
In 2013, the Mint introduced a new and unique Security Feature to confirm the authenticity of its GML coins. Derived from the same award-winning security technology applied to Canada's $1 and $2 circulation coins, the GML Security Feature consists of a textured maple leaf, microengraved with laser technology on a small area of the reverse side (Maple Leaf side) of the coin. In the centre of this mark, visible under magnification, is the numeral "14", denoting the coin's year of issue.

Very proud to see Canada was the first country to produce a 24K or .9999 purity. I love this country. God bless our land.

I noticed these gold maples are much shinier than the gold eagles. I like the Canadian ones better.

I’m gonna make the Maple my first gold 1 ounce coin. I’m jealous the Gold Eagle is the best my country could do compared to that Maple Leaf!

They should make a joint country gold coin/series.. for ultimate trust/security. Hopefully without charging absurd premium for the starting point.

1 ounce gold US/Canada coin. Share the DNA tech from Maple Leaf on front, and US Eagle on back with the US security ridge on the side of coin.

The gold 1 ounce Brittania has 4 security features, gold Australian kangaroo have the micro engraved letter.

Imagine if these 4 made a joint coin…..
New design with combined tech, the gold piece is shipped to all 4 countries during creation and get a segment of the coin to design, with each adding their security feature and also validation of .999 gold.

That piece would sell insanely well, offer model as well priced as possible starting 1 ounce. People would eat up the proof and higher priced releases as well. 2oz, 5oz gold ones would be gems. 💎

That would be a dream coin. If I heard that was being released in 2025 I would be saving up right now to preorder lol 😂

Beautiful, I only buy .9999 and the rcm is the leader of .9999 legal tender coins.

Notice that given the many times the video showed an image of the coin not once did they show the image of the Queen on the obverse. Many complaints about the Queen's image.

I recently bought an 1/2oz Royal Canadian Gold Maple Leaf 2020 coin but it did not have this laser mark, is it safe to assume that it is still genuine gold coin from Royal Canadian Mint. The 1oz gold bar Royal Canadian Mint has 2 laser engraving on the left and right of the serial number.

How do you sell physical gold and silver after you buy it?
Would the royal Canadian mint would take it back at market value?

This might be an ignorant question but how can you counterfeit a gold coin? Isn't the value in the fact that the coin itself is made out of gold? Even if i made the exact same coin with gold isn't that not an issue? Gold doesn't come out of thin air like fiat currency tho
