I'm so thankful I haven't given in to the hype with "It Ends With Us" I had 0 interest in it before, and if it's possible even less interest now after your thoughts on it. I really must get on it and finally read Giovanni's Room, it sounds like an incredible story

I'm excited to finally read Giovanni's Room! I've been meaning to forever.
I noticed you seem to read a lot of classics, as do I, so I was curious what your favorites have been. Mine are: East of Eden, The Count of Monte Cristo, Tess of the D'Ubervilles (i just read this one and loved it!), The Picture of Dorian Gray, North & South, and Little Women. I also absolutely LOVED Address Unknown which is a quick read.

My recommendation for you is No Land to Light On by Yara Zgheib. It follows the story of a Syrian couple living in the US as refugees and how their lives are tragically altered by the sudden travel ban of 2017. The writing was incredibly lyrical and the shift from past to present was such a great way to engage the reader.

I LOVED Autumn in Ali Smith’s seasonal quarter but really didn’t get on with Winter so hearing that Summer is also not a vibe has helped silence the voice that was telling me I maybe had given up too early😅 great video, thank you!📚✨

Giovanni’s Room might be the saddest book I read this year. Just thinking about it makes my heart ache. The narrator of this book - David - ties with June from Yellowface as the most terrible protagonists I’ve seen in literature.

Found your channel this morning and I am so happy I did! I have the same feelings about all the books you are talking about that I’ve also read. And I think you are the first book reviewer who didn’t particularly like Ali Smith’s work which I can also relate to 😌🤍
