Hey, Welcome to the OFD Watch Channel. My name is Aron Dunlap, and I’m nuts about watches. What’s OFD you ask? Well, one of my best friends coined this term. It stands for “Only F@#*ing Dunlap” (sorry kids!!) due to some of the ridiculous things I can come up with, including watch collecting.

I have loved watches for years, but in the last few years really got into the collecting and studying aspect. I mainly buy Seiko and Orient watches, but I love everything out there!! (Omega, Oris, Rolex, Squale, Timex, Casio, Steinhart….and on and on and on)

Thanks a lot. I subscribe to some watch channels that show fantastic pieces for me (male). I have been scouting for my woman and the result for these small solar watches are nearly zilch.

Do Citizen Eco-Drive batteries ever need to be replaced? I know they are charged by light, but do they have a lifespan? 10 years, 20 years?

Are they even replaceable?

Finding a good women's watch is impossible. They're either small like this one or completely blinged out, or too expensive. If you look for a more fashion style watch, you really can't find anything other than Michael Kors type quartz crap. I think the women who are buying fashion brand watches are doing so because there is no quality alternative in the same price range.

Echo Scott's comments re ladies' watches. I own two Eco Drives and they have proved very reliable in service. As you point out Aron the technology is sustainable, practical and really useful. Not dissing mechanicals, mind, but I suspect this solar tech will grow more popular in future.
